The services provided at Response, which are primarily provided by our trained volunteers, are crucial to the well-being and safety of our community.
 
 
Dedicated Advocates

Our legal advocate assists our clients in obtaining restraining orders and in selecting appropriate legal counsel.  Our Latina advocate coordinates services for and addresses the needs of our Latina survivors. 

24-Hour Help-Line

ú  Confidential crisis assistance

ú  Immediate response for victims & survivors

 

Shelter

ú  Confidential shelter for 1 to 3 days

ú  Referral to long-term shelter

 

Medical Advocacy

ú  An advocate can accompany a victim/survivor to the doctor, hospital or “SANE” (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) exam

 

Court Advocacy

ú  Civil and criminal justice support including accompaniment to court, assistance with protection orders, navigating the system and victim’s compensation

 

 Supportive Counseling & Advocacy

ú  Culturally inclusive and competent one on one peer counseling and advocacy for victims/survivors, family and non-abusive significant others

ú  Crisis counseling, emergency financial assistance, information, resources and referrals

ú  Safety planning

ú  Immigration and human trafficking support services

 

Support Groups

ú  Weekly support groups in English and Spanish for adult and child victims of domestic violence and sexual assault

Garden of Hope Sanctuary for survivors and other visitors

Presentations for the general public, schools, civic and service groups to raise awareness regarding domestic abuse, sexual assault, healthy relationships, bullying, cyber-bullying and technology abuse and the impact on children witnessing violence in the home.
